About this Opportunity
Please join us to help restore a beautiful Island in the Willamette River that has become overrun by English Ivy. Great Blue Herons also have one of the largest Rookeries in the Portland area here. . Please dress for the weather and wear sturdy shoes. All individuals and groups are encouraged to sign up. We can access the island over a land bridge that forms in the summers. The native trees and Herons need our help.

Advanced Registration: Is highly suggested but not required. Please sign up (green button below) ahead of time to guarantee your spot.
Meeting Location: Volunteers will meet at Maddax Woods Park entrance at 5785 River Street in West Linn. Look for the Solve signs.

What to Bring: Please wear closed-toed shoes and weather-appropriate clothing, and bring a backpack for hands-free convenience. Feel free to bring your personal tools if available and a reusable water bottle to support our sustainability efforts.
What's Provided: Work gloves and tools provided. Also some snacks.
Restrooms: A good Port O Potty is in the Maddax Woods Parking area. There is no official bathroom on Goat Island. Its a good idea to go before the event.
Parking: There is plenty of free parking along River Street next to Maddax Woods. Thank you for not blocking any residents driveways.
Transit: Take Bus #35 to Burns Street and walk down to the Maddax Woods entrance.
Accessibility: This area may not be easily accessible for folks with mobility concerns.
Translation Services: There will not be a Spanish speaker present at this event.
Participant Age Guidelines: Recommended for Ages 13 and Up
