Become a foster parent

The Lehigh Valley is facing a critical shortage of safe, loving foster homes for children and teens in need of out-of-home care. Foster parents have the incredible opportunity to welcome a child or children into your home and provide them with love and security for as long as they need. Placements could range anywhere from a few days to a few years or more. Our agency provides a high level of training and support to prepare you for the unique needs of children in care. Our licensing process can be completed in about 6 months and is primarily online, with only 1 in-person training required. Foster parents receive a small stipend to help provide for the children. There is no "perfect" foster family - all kinds of families are needed, and many people are surprised to find they could make great foster parents!

• Can be single, married, or an unmarried couple
• Same sex couples are welcomed
• Can work full-time outside of the home
• Can own or rent your home, as long as it has enough space for a foster child
• Foster children can share a bedroom with your biological children, as long as they have their own bed (children over the age of 5 must be the same gender)
• No minimum income requirements, as long as you are able to provide for your own household bills without depending on the foster care stipend
• Can be any age (21 or over) - young professionals, empty nesters, and grandparents all make excellent foster parents!
• Must live within 50 miles of our Allentown, PA office
