Goat Fest 2025

About: Goat Fest is an annual event held the last Saturday in July in South Side Park at the Arlington Ballfield to celebrate the work of the Allegheny Goatscape herd of goats that will be grazing in Jurassic Valley from July to August. Jurassic Valley is a 10-acre portion of the park that is overgrown with invasive vines and plants, and the goal is to remove these invasives and reforest the area. 

When: This year, Friends of South Side Park will be hosting Goat Fest on July 26th from 12 pm - 4 pm. We will have a craft vendor market, food trucks, live music, family-friendly activities, and more. 

Tasks: We need volunteers throughout the day to help:

- set up, which starts at 8 am

- during the event from 12 pm - 4 pm by selling water or plants, keeping children safe in the play area, managing the crowd throughout the day, assisting vendors, providing information to visitors, and collecting donations. 

- cleaning up after the event from 4 pm - 6 pm
