Reader (Pan American Recreation Center) - Spring 2025

Reading Aces is an organization that allows volunteers to attend at-risk community centers and work with elementary students to improve their literacy skills. It is a fun and easy way to positively impact your community. It also looks great on your resume and fulfills service hours.

Transportation is available (provide your number when signing up to be added to the carpool GroupMe), but, if you have a car, please sign up to drive - you'll receive an extra 1 hour for each session you drive! To sign up to drive, put your phone number when signing up for the slot and you'll be added to the carpool GroupMe. You'll then have access to the carpool sheet and will be able to add your information, pickup location (on or walking distance from the UT Austin campus), and pickup time (account for traffic and leave enough time to arrive a bit before the start of the session).

Note: You will meet our officers in the rec center lobby before the session begins. If you would like to be added to a carpool GroupMe, please make sure to include your phone number when signing up. Volunteers will be added to the GroupMe the day before volunteering.
