About this Opportunity

Become a Friend of Mt. Tabor Park as a Weed Warrior! Spend the morning outside at Mt. Tabor, a cinder cone volcano in SE Portland, and help restore the health of this unique park. The Weed Warriors will be removing invasive plants including Himalayan blackberry and English ivy.

Wear long pants, long sleeves and sturdy shoes. Bring a water bottle. Tools and work gloves will be supplied. Be prepared to have fun and feel good taking care of our Mt. Tabor Park.

Friends of Mt Tabor Park works to  increase the ecological health of the park and help improve the air and water quality for the whole city. For more information: www.taborfriends.org

Project Requirements:

  • Volunteers must be 7 years of age or older to attend this project; any volunteer under age 16 must attend with a parent or adult chaperone.

  • If you plan to bring your children or other guests to the event, you MUST reserve slots for them. The best way to do this is to create a Volunteer Team. You can then sign up your team for this project.

  • All volunteers under 18 are required to bring a waiver signed by their parent or legal guardian. Please download, complete, and bring this waiver with you on the day of the project: Youth Volunteer Release Form
