Food On The Move Volunteer

At the St. Louis Area Foodbank, we have a unique food distribution called, “Food On the Move” where we take our trailer to various areas in our 26 county service area within Missouri and Illinois.

We need volunteers to help load the truck and accompany our staff to these pre-determined distribution locations.

• Stock and organize the trailer and assist cllients with shopping.

• After the event, help secure leftover food and pack up trailer to return to the St. Louis Area Foodbank.

• There are 27 Food on the Move events each month to choose from Tuesday - Saturday

• You’ll always start at the St. Louis Area Foodbank then ride in the truck/trailer with other volunteers and a Foodbank staff member to and from the distribution location.

• Over the last two years, the Food on the Move initiative has had tremendous success bringing support to communities lacking adequate access or transportation to food outlets and grocery stores.
