About this Opportunity

Opportunity Overview: Do you enjoy being outdoors, walking along the beautiful beaches of Martha’s Vineyard? Consider assisting the Martha’s Vineyard staff by providing ongoing upkeep on a flexible and independent schedule and/or during special clean-up day events at our stunning properties. As a Beach Steward, you’ll have the opportunity to work independently as well as support staff to help keep these magical properties beautiful for all to enjoy. We’ll provide the trash bags if you provide your own work gloves!

Responsibilities (may include but are not limited to the following):
  • Participate in light property maintenance tasks which may include:
    • Clearing of vegetation in and near trails and parking areas
    • Removal of trash 
  • Communicate with staff
  • Record number of trash bags collected each visit
  • Adhere to The Trustees Covid-19 guidelines
  • Log volunteer hours weekly
Qualifications
  • Must be comfortable interacting with property visitors
  • Must be able to perform work outside
  • Must be comfortable taking on a project and working independently
  • Must be able to enjoy walking on the property, be conservation-minded, and willing to help maintain the property
  • Must be able to walk over uneven terrain and lift/carry up to 10 lbs.
  • Able to work in seasonal weather conditions
