About this Opportunity
Alianza Mosaic Beacon
Hunger does not discriminate — it affects the elderly, working families, veterans, immigrants, the disabled and, worst of all, children. At the Mosaic Beacon School in Highbridge, there is a food pantry that operates within the school. A food pantry is an emergency food program that distributes food to people who cannot afford groceries at their local supermarket. Catholic Charities' Feeding Our Neighbor program is partnering with Mosaic Beacon to support children and their families receive a healthy and balanced diet.
Volunteers will assist in the operation of a choice food pantry, where families will be able to choose groceries that they need for their households.
As a volunteer, you will:
- Keep track of inventory
- Monitor crowd control
- Ensure a clean, safe, and uplifting shopping experience for clients!
Qualifications/Skills:
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time
- Feel comfortable lifting boxes and bags, constant movement
- Able to patiently and enthusiastically interact with clients
* MUST be comfortable with signing in and showing a form of identification upon arrival.
