About this Opportunity
WHAT TO EXPECT
Volunteers will play an essential role in supporting Feeding Tampa Bay’s Culinary Operations team, ensuring that high-quality, nutritious meals reach our neighbors in need. The roles and responsibilities of these shifts will vary daily and may include tasks such as organizing and stocking donated food and paper products, unloading and shelving food orders, helping maintain cleanliness in our 11,000-square-foot kitchen by washing dishes, sweeping, mopping, and wiping down prep areas. Additionally, volunteers may assist with meal preparation, portioning, and packing chef-prepared meals. This activity requires volunteers to stand for long periods of time, and some lifting (up to 50lb) will be required of able-bodied volunteers.
BEFORE YOU ARRIVE & DRESS CODE
ALL volunteers MUST wear closed-toe shoes (i.e. sneakers, preferably non-slip shoes). Volunteers wearing open-toe shoes will not be allowed to volunteer. Appropriate attire includes shirts with sleeves (no tank-topsor crop-tops), and long pants (NO SHORTS) while working in the kitchen.
