Transcribe OPB Programs for the American Archive (AAPB) (age 18+) Referral

Help make OPB content more accessible! Join our team of volunteers who help correct computer-generated transcripts for the American Archive of Public Broadcasting. 

Each year, hundreds of volunteers help OPB fulfill its mission of connecting people across Oregon and the Pacific Northwest through the power of a shared story. What better way to fulfill this mission than to help make our programming accessible and searchable? Your work will make the content easily found by a keyword search, as well as make OPB content easily consumable for those with disabilities. We also hope that you will enjoy listening to some of OPB's historic content! 

This is a remote project transcribing OPB content for the American Archive of Public Broadcasting. This is an effort to preserve programs as well as make the archive easier to search and more accessible. You will be listening to public television and radio programs from years past and correcting mistakes you see in the transcripts. This work requires access to a computer, and can be done on your own time with no time requirement.

This opportunity is great for anyone who loves listening to NPR or watching PBS. There are hundreds of programs available to transcribe in the archive, with more being added each month. Choose which ones you would like to learn about.

Opportunity Requirements:

• Volunteers must be 18 years of age or older to participate in this opportunity.

• Please note, we are unable to accommodate service requirements related to court mandates, academic assignments, unpaid internships, graduation requirements, housing or treatment programs, or other outside organizations.
