About this Opportunity
Volunteer Opportunity: Hillard House Helpers at Housing Families First
Join us as a Hilliard House Helper and support our efforts to create a welcoming and supportive environment for the families we serve. This twice-a-month volunteer opportunity is perfect for individuals looking to get involved with Housing Families First while making a meaningful difference in their community.
What You’ll Do:
As a Hilliard House Helper, you’ll assist with various tasks around our shelter and administrative building, such as but not limited too:
- Organizing and sorting donations
- Light cleaning to prepare shelter rooms for new families
- Assisting with administrative projects or events
- Other essential activities that keep our shelter running smoothly

This is a great way to meet new people and get introduced to Housing Families First and learn about our mission to address and solve family homelessness in the Richmond region. Your efforts will directly impact the lives of families in need, helping them find stability and hope.
Volunteer Details:
- Shifts will be available on Tuesdays (typically 1st and 3rd Tuesdays) from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM
- We require at least 2 volunteers to sign up per shift, with a maximum of 4 to ensure an efficient environment
- Tasks may vary depending on the day.
Important Notes:
- This opportunity is great for small groups and do not require background checks.
- Must be 18 years of age
- Volunteers must sign up in advance. Once you've signed up, a member of the HFF team will reach out to confirm your shift and provide further instructions.
