POSITION SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Thrift Shoppe & Volunteer Manager, the Thrift Shoppe Volunteer assists the Thrift Shoppe & Volunteer Manager and Thrift Shoppe Assistant Manager with operating the effective and profitable operation of the store.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Foster a positive workplace and team environment through open communication and modeling appropriate behavior.
- Motivate and inspire store volunteer s and volunteers.
- Learn all job functions of the store and cover for various roles when required.
- Respect and comply with all GHS policies and procedures, ensuring that volunteers are aware of and comply with policies.
- Ensure a clean and organized store.
- Update signage and store displays on a regular bases for accuracy.
- Rotate stock regularly and organize merchandise to maximize sales.
- Operate the store to maximize product on the sales floor.
- Responds to backdoor donation drop off.
- Assist customers with retrieving donations from vehicle upon request.
- Ensure consistent and quality sorting and pricing of donations.
- Set example in customer service for other volunteers, welcoming and responding to customers in a courteous and helpful manner.
- Address customer concerns in a timely and professional manner.
- Maintain a safe working environment for employees, volunteers, and customers.
- Secure store premises on a daily basis.
- Ensure donations and garbage left outside store premises being picked up in a timely manner.
- Ensure that loss prevention processes and policies are consistently followed.
- In this position, you will occasionally be requested to work during non-operating store hours and holidays, which may include restocking days and promotional evening and weekend events. This is not required.
