Ongoing Recruitment for Starfish Volunteers & Mentors

Starfish Initiative exists to inspire, encourage, and prepare motivated high school students from the most vulnerable populations for college, career, and life success through mentoring.  

• We match each Scholar with an adult mentor who commits to meet with their Scholar at least once per month.
• Starfish Initiative mentors are volunteers who serve as “life or college coaches” to keep Scholars working toward achieving their goals of graduating high school, college, and beyond.
• The Starfish Initiative 3C's Model helps students with College Readiness, Career Exposure, and develop their Character.

We are exploring various ways of what mentoring can look like through our program.

• Traditional 1:1 mentoring  
• Small group mentoring
• Serve as a career resource (i.e. panels to share what you do, provide job site tours, connect students with professional contacts, etc.)
