About this Opportunity
We are in need of (preferably regular/returning) volunteers to help out in our food pantry in order to provide food assistance for those in need within our Hampton Roads community. The Salvation Army is proud to serve over 200 individuals and their families every week by supplying free fresh produce, canned goods, and healthy frozen items while helping those in need maintain their independence and dignity. That's 800 community members per month, providing food for an average of nearly 10,000 people every year who may not know where their next meal is coming from.
10:15am-11:30am: volunteers will be sorting food and packing bags.
12:15pm-3:30pm: volunteers will be handing out prepared bags to clients and assisting with traffic control
- Clients have been screened for appropriateness by our Social Services department. This is a drive thru experience.
