About This Position:

As a Dream Closet Lead Volunteer, you will play a crucial role in MDDC by overseeing the clothing area known as the MDDC Dream Closet. This space predominantly features clothing and various items generously donated by community members. Your focused attention will contribute to the smooth operation of this area, enabling us to serve those in need better.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and organize the Dream Closet, ensuring that donated items are sorted, displayed, and stocked appropriately.
• Coordinate with volunteers to maintain a welcoming and organized shopping experience for individuals accessing the Dream Closet.
• Supervise and guide volunteers assisting in the Dream Closet area.
• Collaborate with staff to track inventory and manage records related to the Dream Closet.
• Assist in creating promotions or events to enhance the Dream Closet's visibility and impact.

Qualifications:

• A strong desire to make a positive difference in the lives of others.
• Excellent organizational skills and an eye for detail to ensure the Dream Closet is well-maintained and accessible.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, especially when working with volunteers and individuals from diverse backgrounds.
• Ability to lead, guide, and motivate a team of volunteers.
• Basic computer proficiency, including familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace Apps.
• Respect confidentiality when handling sensitive information, especially concerning donor contributions and client needs.
• Adaptability and flexibility to meet the evolving needs of the Dream Closet area.

Commitment:

We greatly appreciate the time and commitment volunteers offer. While we encourage a commitment of 4-8 hours per week, we understand the value of any support you can provide and are flexible in accommodating your availability.
