About this Opportunity
Saint Louis Crisis Nursery provides short-term emergency care for children and support to families in crisis at our 5 Crisis Nurseries and 10 Outreach Centers. Lots of supplies are needed to take care of these kids and families - diapers, food, formula, clothing, household items, etc. Volunteer Drivers pick up and deliver diapers, food, clothing, toys, household items and more to make sure that all of our kids and families have what they need, no matter which location they visit. Volunteer Drivers may pick up supplies and donations from community donors (school, company, church, store) and deliver them to one of our Nurseries or Outreach Centers, or transport supplies between our locations throughout St. Louis City, St. Louis County, St. Charles County, and Jefferson County.
Volunteer Drivers use their own vehicle to transport need to have a driver's license, car insurance, and be able to load and unload items independently. Days and times vary, but most occur on weekdays between 9 am-5 pm. You do not need to commit to a consistent schedule or frequency - you can help several times a month, a few times a year, or anywhere in between! While large vehicles are helpful for bigger loads, there are plenty of loads that will fit in a car. And while some loads require more strength, some are similar to carrying bags of groceries. Volunteer Drivers can choose to help with whichever transports they're comfortable with.
If you are interested in becoming a Volunteer Driver, or if you have any questions, please let me know. Thanks for thinking of Saint Louis Crisis Nursery!
