Sunnyhill, a Fenton-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded in 1978, is a leader in supporting people with developmental disabilities across Jefferson County, St. Charles County, and Greater St. Louis. Serving over 1,000 individuals with more than 1 million hours of support annually, we foster inclusion and independence through our mission, “The Sunlit Way.” Join our Board of Directors—or nominate a passionate leader—to shape our impactful programs.

Position Overview: As a Board Member, you’ll guide Sunnyhill’s strategic vision, ensuring our programs empower individuals with developmental disabilities through advocacy and innovation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Planning: Contribute to the strategic plan at an annual meeting.

  • Governance: Attend four quarterly meetings to oversee operations and finances.

  • Fundraising: Participate in 2-3 of 4-5 annual fundraising events, supporting programs like Adventures Camp.

  • Advocacy: Champion Sunnyhill’s mission in the community.

  • Financial Stewardship: Review budgets and financial reports.

  • Committee Work: Serve on a committee (e.g., Program Services or Development).

  • Term: 3-year term, renewable once (~5-10 hours/month).

Qualifications:

  • Passion for empowering people with developmental disabilities.

  • Interest in healthcare, education, or community development (experience preferred but not required).

  • Collaborative, communicative, and open to diverse backgrounds.
