About this Opportunity
Support your local library by volunteering with the Friends of the Houston Public Library at the Book Warehouse! No prior training/experience is needed; guidance will be provided at the Book Warehouse.
We welcome all volunteers ages 13 and up. Please wear close-toed shoes and clothes you are comfortable in.
For Friends of HPL volunteers 17 or younger: Please print our volunteer liability release form and have you and your parent or guardian sign it and bring it in with you on your first shift with the Friends of HPL. You can locate the form here.
Masks are optional for volunteers. Gloves and hand santizer will be available for volunteers.

Duties:
- Scanning donated and discarded books using Neatoscan scanner
- Sorting and moving books into appropriate area (listing, research, recycle, etc.)
- General warehouse projects such as, breaking down boxes, moving books to other areas, and sorting books for community book sales
