In partnership with Bob's Red Mill, SOLVE is thrilled to bring back Pick It Up, Milwaukie! for its second year — a community-powered cleanup right in the heart of our hometown!

Join us on Saturday, September 19, 2026, in downtown Milwaukie, and Milwaukie's Bay Park as residents, local businesses, families, and volunteers of all ages roll up their sleeves to care for the city we love.

This family-friendly event is a chance to lead by example and inspire the next generation — showing kids (and reminding ourselves!) that small actions add up to meaningful change. Together, we’ll remove litter from downtown streets, business corridors, and nearby gathering spaces—and take meaningful action at Milwaukie’s waterfront Bay Park, clearing debris from the river’s edge to protect the health of our shared waterways. Along the way, we’ll build stronger community connections and momentum for a cleaner, healthier Milwaukie.

After the cleanup, stick around for Milwaukie’s Sustainability Fair happening nearby — an afternoon filled with family-friendly activities, community booths, creative inspiration, and more. It’s the perfect way to celebrate a morning of action with a community-wide focus on sustainable living.

What to Bring: Please wear closed-toed shoes and weather-appropriate clothing, and bring a backpack for hands-free convenience. Feel free to bring your personal tools if available and a reusable water bottle to support our sustainability efforts.

What's Provided: All event and safety equipment: trash collection containers, deluxe litter grabbers, protective work gloves (all sizes!), and high-visibility safety vests. Bob's Red Mill will provide snack bars to keep up the energy, and plenty of water will be provided.

Restrooms: Public restrooms are available throughout downtown Milwaukie, as well as at various retail businesses in the area.

Parking: Parking is available at Portland Waldorf School's South parking lot, located at SE 21st and SE Monroe St. City street parking will also be available.

Transit: The MAX Orange Line, and Trimet bus #'s 29, 32, and 34.

Accessibility: This area is accessible for folks with mobility concerns.

Translation Services: There will not be a Spanish speaker present at this event.
