About this Opportunity
CVNL advances nonprofits and volunteerism by strengthening leadership, encouraging innovation and empowering individuals in our community. We currently are seeking a volunteer grant research individual.
Overview
As a Grant Research Volunteer, you will support our fundraising team by identifying and researching potential grant opportunities from foundations, corporations, and government agencies. Your work will contribute to securing essential funding that enables us to carry out CVNL’s mission and programs.
We have access to GrantStation, an online grant search tool. If you choose this opportunity, we will schedule a orientation and walk you through our programs, who we serve and the types of funding we are looking for.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct research to identify potential funding sources, including private foundations, government grants, and corporate sponsorships.
- Maintain a database of relevant grant opportunities, deadlines, and application requirements.
- Assist with compiling and summarizing grant guidelines, eligibility criteria, and specific funding priorities.
- Support the grant writing team by providing research data and evidence that supports the organization's mission and programs.
- Collaborate with other volunteers or staff members on special research projects.
- Keep up-to-date with trends in the nonprofit sector and funding opportunities.
- Assist with tracking submission deadlines and ensuring all application materials are submitted on time.
Skills and Qualifications
- Strong research and analytical skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to organize and summarize large amounts of information.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.) and/or Google Workspace.
- Familiarity with grant databases (e.g., Foundation Directory Online, GrantWatch) is a plus but not required.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- A passion for the mission of CVNL and a desire to contribute to our goals.
