Community Health & Resources Professional Volunteer

Feed More collects, prepares and distributes food to neighbors in need. With a service area that stretches across 34 cities and counties, our comprehensive programs and Agency Network are dedicated to providing communities with access to quality food and healthy meals.
Established in early 2022, the Community Health & Resources Department works to improve the health and well-being of our communities by increasing access to nutritious food and building collaborative partnerships to address the holistic needs of our neighbors.
Who we’re looking for?
We are looking for a professional volunteer responsible for supporting the department through December 2025. This individual will gain valuable, well-rounded experience making a positive impact interacting directly with neighbors from across our service area.
What will you do?
Direct Assistance Program Support
· Connect directly with neighbors on the Feed More Help Line, providing brief screening interventions and care coordination through connections to food program, SNAP and other resources in person and by phone – Thursdays and Fridays, approx. 12-14 hours per week
Other Key Projects
· Assist with SNAP outreach and assistance program
· Assist with Healthy Pantry Initiative network implementation projects
Is this position for you?
The right candidate must be 18 years or older and desire experience working directly with the community.
- Regular weekday availability and ability to commit to a long-term position is a must
- Great opportunity for a student with daytime availability looking for gainful experience in the field of social work
Candidates should be working on or have:
· Experience working with people - preference for experience in social services, care coordination and/or community-based programs
· Excellent customer service skills with attention to detail
· Ability to multitask – phone and computer dual usage
· Compassionate, non-judgmental, and culturally sensitive approach to providing support
· Ability to remain calm under pressure and maintain confidentiality
· Comfortable with providing brief support and assistance to individuals in crisis
· Professional and positive demeanor
· Intermediate proficiency of internet-based systems and MS Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
· Preference to Bilingual (Spanish and English) candidates
