About this Opportunity
Join Notre Dame students in their 4th annual tabling event for the NMDP Registry during their swab week! Hosted by the students of Duncan Hall, the mission of NMDP hits close to home with the generous Duncan Family, who are responsible for the creation of Duncan Student Center and Duncan Hall, being directly impacted by cancer and transplant. Read their story below!
Volunteers are very important to our mission. We appreciate your support and for getting involved! Questions? Please email the opportunity coordinator below.

Kary Duncan, MD, her husband David, and their family have been dedicated supporters of NMDP for years. Their connection with NMDP began when Kary was searching for a blood stem cell donor match after being diagnosed with myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS) in 2012. She had a successful blood stem cell transplant in June 2016 and was even pronounced cured. However, in 2021, the MDS came back. But Notre Dame students stepped up to spread awareness and recruit more potential blood stem cell donors to the NMDP Registry with their "Keep Calm and Kary On" campaign, tabling in Duncan Student Center to support Kary and the Duncan Family.
Later in 2021, Kary received a second transplant facilitated by NMDP. And, just this past year, the Duncans finally had the chance to meet Kary's selfless donor, Emily, for the first time. The "Keep Calm and Kary On" campaign has continued at Notre Dame and more than 650 new members have joined the registry in Kary's honor, and we won't stop there. Join us!
