Food Distribution (Hallandale Beach)

With costs on the rise, families in our low-income neighborhood can fill students' bellies with the fresh produce and pantry staples provided at our monthly food distribution. Good nutrition is important for students because it helps them be prepared to learn. Proper nutrition boosts grades, memory, alertness, and energy levels. We expect to engage with and serve at least 200 families. Each family receives 40 or more pounds of food when they attend a food distribution.
Volunteers will be helping us prepare and distribute food for a monthly giveaway. There are three shifts available - set up, bagging, distribution.
11:00AM - 1:00PM Set up outdoor market and unload groceries
1:00PM - 3:00PM Bag groceries
3:00PM - 5:30PM Distribute to families and Tear down
Volunteers will provide their ID on the day of volunteering to the school security office to run a background scan and receive a visitor's badge. You will need to check in with school security to park.
Wear closed toed shoes; bring a reusable bottle of water that you may refill; we will be outdoors so maybe wear a hat!
