About this Opportunity
Liberty State Park is known to many as a local treasure. Volunteer to maintain this beautiful park while enjoying wonderful views of the harbor, Lady Liberty, and Ellis Island. Volunteers are needed to support various gardening projects including weeding, mulching, clean-up, removing invasive botanical species and planting.
This is a light rain or shine event- heavy rain or snow will result in a cancelled project. We suggest you arrive by 8:45 am, so volunteering can start on time.
NEED-TO-KNOW

We will email a map of where to meet the day before the project. Please call us if you did not receive the email on Friday before 3 pm.

Please be sure to wear closed-toed shoes/boots, hats, work gloves if possible, insect repellent, sunscreen, and long pants to protect yourself while gardening

Please read the description carefully and understand all volunteers must have the capacity to complete the tasks noted in the description above. Also understand that you can work according to your skills, abilities, age, etc. and pace yourself where you can. Remember to have fun!

All projects have non-negotiable age restrictions that are noted on the upper right side of each project description. Children under 18 must have a parent or guardian on site at all times. Additionally, they will need to complete a State Park form (on site) and a Jersey Cares Youth Waiver which can be either submitted online prior to the opportunity, or it can be brought to the project.

Waivers: All projects have non-negotiable age restrictions that are noted on the upper right side of each project description. If you meet the age restriction but are under 18, please have a parent or legal guardian complete the required youth waiver and bring with you to the project. Adults attending the project can expedite the registration process by printing the adult waiver in advance, sign and bring with you.
