About this Opportunity

This position assists park staff with day to day operations of a state park. Duties may include, operating mowers, weed-eaters and chainsaws, firewood collection, operating lumber mill, cleaning restrooms, cleaning campsites, completing visitor use surveys, trash collection, and light repairs. Shifts may vary, primarily daytime, but always include one Saturday or Sunday each week.

Lake Livingston State Park is located in Polk County on the southeast edge of Lake Livingston, an 84,000 acre reservoir. The site is popular with fishermen angling for Crappie, Catfish, and Black, White, and Striped Bass. The park is heavily wooded away from the shore, and is home to approximately 300 species of native and migratory birds. All Park Host sites are equipped with 30 and 50 amp electrical, water, and sewer. Wi-fi is also available within the park. Park Hosts must commit to a minimum of a one-month stay, though interested Hosts are encouraged to stay for up to six months. Host positions are available year round.
