About this Opportunity
Volunteer responsibilities in this position could include (but are not limited to) the following:
- Pick up trash.
- Clean grills and campfire rings.
- Assist with restroom cleanliness and stocking.
- Cleaning shelters and cabins.
- Brush trimming along roads and trails.
- Painting park buildings and signs.
- Mowing day use and camping area.
- Basic carpentry work.
- Work in a positive and friendly manner with staff, volunteers, and visitors.
This is not an exhaustive list of possible responsibilities, and other duties may arise depending on park needs.
While anything can be learned, volunteers best suited for this opportunity have experience with customer service and basic maintenance skills.
This position must complete at least 25 hours of volunteer service each week and will report to the Lead Ranger. Hosts must stay a minimum of 3 months or a maximum of 6 months, which must be determined between the host and the coordinator. The park will reach out to you with available months.
In exchange for the volunteering, Park Hosts stay in a campsite during their time at the park. Depending on availability, campsites are either water and electric or full hookup (water/electric/sewer). The minimum age for this position is 18 years old, and a criminal background check is required.
