About this Opportunity
Volunteer at Texas Discovery Gardens!
Texas Discovery Gardens, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, is a 7.5-acre organic oasis in Dallas’ historic Fair Park. We feature Texas native and adapted plants, the Rosine Smith Sammons Butterfly House with free-flying exotic butterflies, and interactive attractions like the Snake & Reptile Shack, garden trains, and children’s playscape.
As the first 100% organic public garden in Texas, we are committed to sustainability and environmental education through events, workshops, and daily interactions.

Training is required for all volunteer positions. Once completed, you’ll be ready to sign up for shifts! Opportunities include:
- Butterfly House
- Snake & Reptile Shack
- Garden Docent
- Garden Trains (Weekends)

We also have special event roles, such as helping with plant sales, homeschool days, and the State Fair. A monthly newsletter shares additional opportunities.
