Do you love history? Do you wish to keep it alive? Do you like storytelling? Come join us and tell about the oldest house in McKinney, share the history of Collin County and McKinney through our weekly and scheduled guided tours.

Volunteer to be a Docent (tour guide) to lead tours of the Historic Home Museums on Thursdays and/or Saturdays at 11:00 am.Learn the stories of the families that lived in the historic homes and pass on their history to visitor's that come to take a tour. Noexperience is required. Docents receive full training, including a docent manual with the history of the families that lived in the homes, tours with experienced docents and mock tours with the Chestnut Square Tour Manager.

Requirements:

• Village Tours are onSaturday and Thursday from 10:45 am to 12:15 pm.

• Background check required and we support the cost.

• Observe at least two group tours with an experienced docent

• Conduct a mock tour withthe Chestnut Square Museum Director before you begin leading tours on your own.

Preferred skills:

• Well-spoken, speak clearly and animated

• Opportunity to work private tours

• Opportunity to be a docent for School Tours
