About this Opportunity
The Volunteer Site Coordinator oversees tutoring groups, welcomes new and returning learners and tutors, assesses learners' proficiency levels, and assigns them to appropriate tutoring groups. This opportunity can be in-person or virtual. They report to the program coordinator.
Responsibilities:
Tutoring Group Management: Organize and manage tutoring groups based on learners' proficiency levels and learning goals.
Learner and Tutor Engagement: Create a welcoming environment, support new learners and tutors, and encourage collaboration.
Proficiency Assessment: Assess learners' proficiency levels to determine suitable tutoring groups.
Program Coordination: Provide regular reports to the program coordinator and align tutoring activities with program objectives.
Volunteer Management: Recruit, train, and supervise volunteers involved in tutoring activities.
Requirements:
- Attend the ABCs of Washtenaw Literacy information session to learn about our vision, mission, and the programs we offer.
- Shadow another site coordinator to gain a better understanding of how things work.
