VNA Hospice NWI Home Patient Volunteers

Home VNA Volunteers visit our hospice and palliative care patients in the nursing home, or private home setting to provide companionship or brief respite care for the caregiver. Volunteer duties may include reading to patients, listening to music, watching a movie, or making a small snack. Patient volunteers are asked to complete our background check process and training program both online and in person.

At VNA Hospice NWI, our volunteers are an integral part of our team and assist in many of the day to day activities that help our agency run smoothly. In order to safeguard the patients and families in our care, volunteers may be asked to complete background checks, TB tests, online training programs, continuing education in-services, and other required documentation in order to volunteer with our team.
