As the winter months approach, ECHOS is preparing to open the Elizabethtown Emergency Shelter, providing a warm and safe haven for those experiencing homelessness. Operating from the first Monday in December to the first Friday in April, our shelter is committed to offering more than just a roof over heads. We provide essential case management and enrichment services to support our guests during their stay.

How You Can Help:

We are seeking 70 volunteers each week to help us operate our shelter and ensure that our guests feel welcomed and cared for. Heres how you can get involved:

• Evening Volunteers (6:00 PM - 9:00 PM): Welcome guests, assist with check-in, conduct security checks, distribute linens, serve dinner, and help with clean-up.

• Overnight Volunteers (9:00 PM - 6:00 AM): Monitor guests and assist staff as needed. Enjoy a private volunteer room for rest during your shift.

• Morning Volunteers (6:00 AM - 9:00 AM): Help wake guests, serve breakfast, check guests out, and clean up.

• Shelter Cleaning Volunteers (Monday 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM and Wednesday 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM): Keep our shelter clean and welcoming by maintaining common areas and sleeping spaces.

• Hot and Ready Meal Volunteers (6:00 PM - 6:30 PM): Provide nourishing meals for our shelter guests.
