Project Overview

Please help us welcome the winter season with warmth and care!
Lancaster County Chooses Love is looking for volunteers to refresh our gender-affirming Clothing Closeta space that provides inclusive, respectful access to clothing for those in need.

As we transition into colder months, youll help pack away summer items, organize winter gear, and ensure the space remains inviting and accessible to all.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Sort, fold, and store summer clothing

  • Unpack, organize, and display winter apparel

  • Reorganize storage in both the basement and the closet area

  • Light lifting and moving between floors will be involved

Project Details

  • Dates Available:

    • Tuesday, September 9

  • Start Time: 10:00 AM

  • Duration: Approximately 3 hours

  • Volunteers Needed: 610 people

  • Minimum Age: 16 (Minors must be accompanied by an adult)

  • Wheelchair Accessible: No

What to Wear

Comfortable clothing suitable for movement and light lifting. No special gear neededwell provide everything else!

Parking Information

  • Metered parking available on E. Main Street (free after 6 PM and on Sundays)

  • Free on-street parking available on S. Cedar Street (south of Juniper Lane)

  • Free off-street parking available on North Water Street

  • Accessible parking located behind our building (2 designated spaces for those with handicap placards or plates)

Volunteer Check-In

Please use the side entrance of the building. Volunteers will check in upon arrival.

No Special Skills Required

All are welcome! As long as you're comfortable with light lifting and moving between floors, you're good to go.

This is more than just a seasonal refreshit's a chance to help create a safe, affirming space for members of our community. We'd love to have you on board!
