Mentor - Walnut Bend Elementary School

Please consider joining us to mentor a child at Walnut Bend Elementary School this year! Mentors at Walnut Bend meet with a small group of students (3-4) once / week, Monday - Friday, for 30 minutesduring the student's lunch hour.

Our curriculum follows the HISD character trait emphasis for each month and mentors can be creative! Mentors may read with their students, play games like UNO or Connect 4 or even do a craft! The heart of mentoring is to share consistent focused time with a child or small group. Mentoring helps meet the basic human need of letting our children know they are not alone, but rather loved and seen. 74% of those who had a mentor early in life say that mentor contributed to their overall success in life!
