Human Resources Assistant, CrowdDoing Systemic Change Portfolio
We are seeking a human resources assistant to join our growing organization. In this position, you will manage employee records, keep and update files, and prepare reports as needed. An organized, detail-oriented work ethic is a must. This is an excellent learning opportunity for candidates interested in pursuing a career in human resources.
Human Resources Assistant Duties and Responsibilities
Organize, compile, update company personnel records and documentation
Assist recruitment of potential applicants based on experience, skills, and education
Assist in preliminary interviews of potential candidates
May be asked to take detailed notes during multiple interviews
Administrative tasks such as performing background checks, filing paperwork, completing employee documentation, recording data on each current employee; maintaining and filing paperwork of terminated or exiting employees
Update online volunteer role posting requirements when needed
Coordinate HR projects such as meetings or surveys;
Take minutes and detailed notes
Help organize and manage new employee orientation, on-boarding, and training programs
Assist in explaining and providing information on employee benefits, programs, and education
Represent company at community and recruiting events
Provide administrative support for HR executives
May help in payroll preparation when needed; provides documentation of employee absences, bonuses, and personal time
Answer employee questions and address employee concerns with company; including employee safety, welfare, wellness and health
MHelp to manage committees on wellness, training, health and safety, culture, and communications as needed
Human Resources Assistant Requirements and Qualifications
Eager to learn and assist all team members when needed
Possesses superb written skills
Excellent interpersonal relationship building =
Excellent computer skills, knowledge of Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS), Excel and demonstrated skills in database management and record keeping
Organized and efficient in daily tasks
HR applicants require a bachelors degree in human resources, business, administrative services or a related field, or extensive prior experience in human resources; or as an assistant, administrator, or in a clerical position
Knowledge of employment law, compensation, organizational planning, organization development, employee relations, safety, training, and preventive labor relations, preferred.
General knowledge of employment laws and best practices
