Global Cultural Networker

Help build peace and overcome global divisions while honing your intercultural communication skills. At Acquaint, you can build your relationship with the world through 1-on-1 conversations with other volunteers from over 35 countries.

Cultural networking isn't easy. It requires curiosity and appreciation for others while being tolerantof conflicting viewpoints. By practicing finding common ground and connecting with diverse people, we empower the world to work together.

Acquaint is one of the most convenient and rewarding ways to volunteer. The process is simple. First: enter times that you are available in Acquaint's web app. Next, Acquaint pairs you with someone else from around the world during your available time. Finally, at the time of your session, connect for an approximately one-hour conversation and virtual icebreaker. Your session partner could be down the street, or on the other side of the globe.

This role is open to anyone over the age of 14 who has internet access a device that connects to the internet (for example, a smartphone, tablet, or laptop). The device must have a microphone. Generally, if it will work with Zoom, Facetime, etc. it will work with Acquaint. Volunteers under 18 must receive permission from a parent or guardian.

Onboarding and training for this role takes about 4-6 hours total and involves getting to know an Acquaint mentor, who will guide you through how to use the platform.
