About this Opportunity

Provide the comforting presence of music at bedside for patients who are receiving end-of-life care. Be part of the hospice care team, to join the physician, nurse, social worker and chaplain in providing comfort and support. Soft voiced instruments such as guitar, flute, harp, piano, violin and cello provide soothing presence as does unaccompanied voice. The goal is to meet with the patient in their home or facility where they live to provide music once a week or once every two weeks. The schedule is flexible and based upon your availability. No physical care of the patient is involved.

We offer a flexible Volunteer Orientation program!

Our training program format will allow candidates to complete some of the required training thru an online program at your convenience and provide additional times and locations for the in-person training component.Note: Volunteers are asked to wait one year after the death of a family member or friend before volunteering.

We will work with you to help you join our volunteer program and start supporting patientsthroughout our 11 county service area! Contact us to receive more information and application instructions. Call Yvonne at (616)391-4240 or email us at [email protected].
