About this Opportunity
As a Neighborhood Produce Market Volunteer, you will distribute food at 2-3 locations (usually neighborhoods) in Harrisonburg. The distribution includes the following activities:
- Unload food from the Food Bank truck and set it up for farmers market-style choice distribution or 15-to-20-pound produce boxes
- Assist clients by carrying boxes to homes as needed or with simple registration
- Handout flyers and recipes
- Help pack and load supplies after each stop
Volunteers get to interact with youth and families of all backgrounds in a respectful and supportive way. Each Neighborhood Produce Market volunteer shift is about 2 hours and the locations are all within a 2 mile radius.
You can view all opportunities and sign up by visiting the Neighborhood Produce Market site.
