About this Opportunity

St. David’s Hospice & Family Care is actively seeking caring and compassionate volunteers to visit and offer companionship to hospice patients in the Round Rock area. Hospice patients are in the final stages of their lives, and regular visits from volunteers provide support and comfort.

Activities hospice volunteers can do with patients include: talking, reading aloud, listening to music, watching TV/movies, writing letters, looking at photos, playing cards or board games, etc. Volunteers are encouraged to share any special skills or talents with patients.

We are looking for volunteers who can make a commitment to volunteer 1-2 hours per week. Volunteer shifts are flexible and tailored to the volunteer’s schedule and availability. This opportunity is not a clinical role; therefore, volunteers do not need medical experience. They do not provide any medical care nor do they offer social or spiritual advice. Many of our patients speak Spanish, and Spanish speaking volunteers are needed.

Volunteering an hour or more a week can make a lasting impact on the life of a hospice patient. We hope you will consider becoming a hospice volunteer and joining the St. David’s Hospice team. For questions, more information or to obtain an application: Contact René Carlin at [email protected].
