About this Opportunity
Colorado Talking Book Library is looking for volunteers to help keep our books "talking". Each Talking Book Machine issued to a patron of the library is serviced at the workshop in Denver. A team of volunteers is responsible for repairing and maintaining damaged Talking Book Machines and returning machines back to library patrons. Volunteers are provided with a well-equipped work room where they inspect and repair the machines. Technical manuals and parts lists are available along with specialized tools and parts that are provided by the library. For each session, orientation, training, and assistance are provided by the group leader, other volunteers and staff. The Talking Book Machine Repair Program is open to anyone who enjoys doing minor electronics repair or is interested in learning how to do simple repairs in a safe and fun atmosphere. No experience is necessary! The goal of the program is not only getting machines repaired, but also volunteer training, team-work, engagement, and satisfaction. The Talking Book Machine Repair Program is open to everyone, regardless of their experience level. Whether you're a seasoned electronics enthusiast or someone looking to learn a new skill, you'll find a supportive and inclusive community here. Our program is designed to foster teamwork, engagement, and satisfaction, and we're excited to have you join us.
