About this Opportunity
CONTRA COSTA COUNTY VOLUNTEER DRIVERS NEEDED TO HELP SENIORS AND VETERANS! MOBILITY EQUALS INDEPENDENCE! Are you interested in giving a Senior or a Veteran a ride to their medical appointment or grocery shopping? If so, this volunteer opportunity is perfect for you! Rides 4 Veterans mission is to have Veterans giving other Veterans rides to their medical appointments and grocery shopping, free of charge. We have also been operating an award winning Rides for Seniors Program for the past 19 years. If you are interested in giving a ride to an older adult in need of transportation to his or her medical appointments or grocery shopping, please also respond to this poster!
Our volunteers give rides to individuals who cannot use other forms of transportation due to disabilities. We do not transport wheelchairs. Mobility Matters is a nonprofit organization based in Walnut Creek, CA! Rides for Seniors Volunteers Must: Be caring, mature individuals who are willing and able to provide transportation to ambulatory seniors who can no longer drive. Be age 25-75 with a current driver's license. Excellent driving record and crime free background. Own or have access to a reliable vehicle that is registered and insured. Participate in a training class before giving first ride.
