About this Opportunity
Hospice care is designed to support patients with life-limiting illnesses by focusing on comfort rather than a cure. It addresses the whole person, including their physical, emotional, social, and spiritual needs. The support that Autumn Hospice provides to patients and their families is greatly enhanced by the help of our volunteers.
Hospice volunteers offer consistent companionship. They spend time talking with patients, engaging in light activities like reading, playing music, or simply being present. These seemingly small acts have a profound impact on patients’ well-being. A volunteer’s presence can alleviate feelings of loneliness, reduce anxiety, and even improve the overall quality of life for patients during their final days. Hospice volunteers’ report they are motivated by the desire to give something back and soon find that the spiritual and emotional rewards they receive far outweigh the time and caring they contribute. Volunteers gain satisfaction by making a positive impact on the lives of others.
There is a place for you as a Autumn Hospice volunteer. The rewards of sharing and caring are beyond measure. Call or email today to learn more about your place on the hospice team. You can make a difference!
