Escort Older Adults to Medical Appointments

Accompany age 60+ residents of Somerville and Cambridge, MA to medical appointments (in a taxi, other community transportation, or your own vehicle). Our ideal Escort volunteer is compassionate, reliable, and communicative. How it works:When we receive a Medical Escort request, we email our Escort volunteers with the relevant details. If you're available, just reply, and we put you in contact with the older adult. A trip may be round trip (to the appointment and back) or pickup only (at the conclusion of the visit).

Schedule and Commitment: Often, trips require two to four hours of a volunteer's time. Importantly, this role requires availability on weekdays during regular business hours. We're looking for volunteers who can plan to stay with the program for at least a year.

Fine Print:

• A small travel stipend is available per trip.
• Appointments may be in cities and towns adjacent to Somerville and Cambridge - and are frequently located in Boston.
