About this Opportunity

Do you believe that no one should die alone? Are you caring, compassionate, dependable, and patient? This may be the opportunity for you! Our volunteers offer support and companionship to patients during their end-of-life journey. Some of the activities that you might be able to provide are reading, playing games, singing, listening to life stories, or keeping vigil in a patient’s final hours.

This is a flexible opportunity that works with your schedule...you can give as much or as little time as you want. Training and ongoing support are provided. Emphasis is on providing comfort during the dying process. Questions? Call or email us today at 1-800-236-1989 or 920-926-1144 or [email protected] to learn more.

Requirements: Must be 18 years or older. Agree to a background and reference check, drug screen and TB test. Attend an orientation to learn more about the philosophy of hospice and our company, the role of the volunteer, and how to communicate with hospice patients and their families. Must be appropriately coping with any personal losses, have good communication skills and sound judgement regarding the issues of death and dying, and the ability to work independently with indirect supervision. Travel to homes and facilities in your community is required for this volunteer opportunity, so volunteers must have some form of reliable transportation.
