DESCRIPTION: The HR Professional Mentor will mentor and guide our HR staff and interns. With experience in HR practices, recruiting, talent management, and organizational development they will empower their mentees to excel in their roles. By fostering professional growth, ethical conduct and strategic thinking, they'll contribute to our mission of restoring hope and supporting our team.
REMOTE RESPONSIBILITIES: Supervise and mentor 5 to 10 interns in the HR department. Mentor staff in career progression, learning opportunities, and skill development. Share insights on recruitment, employee relations and HR policies. Oversee and assist in various development and operations of the HR department, including but not limited to: recruiting, interviewing, hiring, onboarding/orientation, training, offboarding, designing and implementing procedures and strategies according to the strategic objectives of Thaddeus, devising evaluation strategies to monitor performance and determining the areas of improvement. Develop and manage general training and opportunities for their department staff. Administer support and guidance to the executive director, fellow management, and other staff when complex and sensitive questions/issues arise.
REQUIREMENTS: Background in human resources, organizational development or related fields. Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration with a concentration in HR, or a related field such as Psychology or Industrial-Organizational Psychology. Volunteer must have the appropriate technology, internet connection and ability to function in a virtual capacity via Microsoft Teams. Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask. Knowledge of employment laws, compliance, and best practices. Strong leadership and mentoring skills.
TIME COMMITMENT: 10 hrs./week including mandatory meetings, 1 year minimum, must be available for the following VIRTUAL weekly meetings - all staff meeting: Tues 9-10am PST & HR dept meeting: Tues 2-4pm PST.
