About this Opportunity
Make a lonely senior smile! Be a Senior Companion! The senior companion program is looking for caring and enthusiastic individuals to provide companionship and transportation to local homebound older adults. Senior Companion volunteers provide rides to the grocery store, doctors office or the local senior center.
If you are aged 55 and over, have a limited income, and can volunteer 10 hours weekly, you could make a big difference in the lives of the most vulnerable NH residents. In addition to the wonderful feeling of helping others, you will receive an hourly tax-free stipend that does not affect subsidized housing, food stamps or other government assistance. Other benefits include mileage reimbursement, ongoing training and support, paid inclement weather days, personal time, secondary insurance coverage and annual volunteer recognition. Become a senior companion. Please call the Senior Companion Program; a statewide program of Community Action Program Belknap-Merrimack Counties, Inc. 603-225-3295 X1144.
