WAREHOUSE ASSOCIATE The Habitat for Humanity ReStore Lake County located at 3545 Grand Ave in Gurnee is a 25,000-square foot retail warehouse where we accept new and gently used building materials, furniture & appliances for resale.

Donations to the ReStore allow individuals a low-cost solution to home maintenance, repair & remodel, a Win for our customers. Proceeds from the donated items go towards building our homes, a WIN for the families and communities we serve!)
GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION: Volunteer is responsible for the expedient and accurate handling of merchandise into and/or out of the warehouse area. General warehouse duties occur within the assigned area of warehouse operations, but position supports all areas of the ReStore as needed.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Process all incoming donations as they come off the truck. Sort donations into eight (8) general categories: furniture, cabinets, lighting, electric, flooring, plumbing, appliances, tools/hardware and transport to specified locations on retail floor. Receive donations and provide receipts as they are dropped off at the warehouse and maintain a professional and courteous attitude to all donors. Assist with unloading trucks and putting the donations in the proper areas in the warehouse. Clean, maintain, and restock work area daily. Assist the driver with daily pickups at times.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE POSITION: Volunteer must be able to assist a minimum of 4 hours (8 hour opportunities available), 2 days a week. Hours will vary (mixture of days, evenings until 5:00 PM & Saturday availability a plus but not required). Must be at least 16 years old and wear closed-toed shoes.
