About this Opportunity
AccentCare Hospice of Pinellas County, Fl provides music therapy internships under the supervision of a board-certified music therapist. Interns may satisfy their required internship hours in a flexible schedule among clinical professionals who want you to get the most out of your experience!
Population and Settings: Interns will work with adult patients on Hospice services and their families. They will provide music therapy services to patients in a variety of levels of care including patient’s homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, and in our inpatient units located in Dunedin and Largo.
Internship Expectations: Intern may complete their required hours, Monday - Friday during the hours of 8am-5pm. They will complete a comprehensive training program, shadow all disciplines (Music Therapy, Social Work, Chaplain, Bereavement, and other clinicians providing direct patient care) before having their own caseload where they will be primarily leading individual sessions with patients and their families. They will document and update care plans accordingly. Interns can expect a variety of assignments that submerse them in all aspects of Hospice care.

Equipment provided: Laptop computer, tablet to document and in most cases a cell phone. Other Information and requirements:
- We require a car, auto insurance, and a valid driver’s license.
- Living arrangements are to be made by intern but our Volunteer Coordinator can provide suggestions.
- A complete background check, including criminal, driving record and drug screening will be required.
- Fingerprints are obtained.
- TB test and Health Screen.

Kimberly will arrange an informal internship discussion where she will share details about the internship and answer any questions that you have. Candidates will then have an interview with our Director of Patient Experience. Applicant should be prepared to play 1-2 songs on the guitar and then if they wish, another instrument of their choosing.
