About this Opportunity

Volunteer with Us and Help Build an Inclusive Community

The LGBTQ Center of the Cape Fear Coast serves as a hub of connection, support, and advocacy for LGBTQ+ individuals and families across southeastern North Carolina. Volunteers are the heart of our work - helping us create safe spaces, strengthen community ties, and make equality visible every day.

Whether you love organizing, connecting with people, sharing stories, or supporting events, there’s a place for you at the Center. Your time and energy help us make a real, lasting impact in the Cape Fear region.

Volunteer Opportunities We are currently seeking volunteers for the following roles:

Volunteer Coordinator / Volunteer Manager Help recruit, onboard, and support other volunteers while keeping things organized and running smoothly. Your leadership ensures every volunteer feels welcomed, informed, and empowered to make a difference in our community.

Front Desk and Phone Coverage Volunteer Be the friendly face and voice that greets visitors and answers calls at the Center. Your warm welcome helps everyone who walks through our doors feel safe, respected, and connected to the resources they need.

Social Media / Marketing Volunteer Help share our story through creative and engaging posts that raise awareness about our programs and strengthen community support for the Center’s mission.

Resource Development / Communications Volunteer Assist with writing, research, and outreach to support communications efforts. Your contributions help sustain our programs and ensure the Center has the resources it needs to thrive.

Event Support Volunteer Play a key role in making our events-from Pride celebrations to community gatherings-welcoming and successful. Your energy brings people together and helps create spaces where everyone feels included and celebrated.

Outreach and Tabling Volunteer Represent the Center at community events by sharing information and connecting with new people. Your presence helps build visibility, trust, and understanding of our work throughout the Cape Fear region.

Facilitator Lead or co-lead Center programs such as support groups, workshops, or community discussions. Your guidance helps create safe, affirming spaces where participants can connect, learn, and grow together.
