About this Opportunity
Jamaica Plain Community Centers Adult Learning Program is seeking highly motivated volunteers who will dedicate 3+ hours weekly to our non-profit organization. Volunteers have the unique opportunity to help adults from Boston and around the world achieve higher education and better jobs. You will gain professional development skills by coordinating with assigned teachers, while ensuring the needs of students are met.
Volunteers are in high demand for these courses: ESOL, HiSET/GED exam prep (Language Arts / Reading / Math / Social Studies / Science), Computer Literacy, and Citizenship & Career classes. We have many opportunities for our volunteers ranging from in-class assistance, out-of-class tutoring, placement testing and community outreach. Internships are possible for college credit, career exploration or community service. Our next fiscal year will begin September 13th, 2021. We will have a Volunteer Orientation a few weeks before the school year begins. Our morning and evening program will be hybrid, with Mondays and Tuesdays being in-person, and Wednesdays being virtual.
