Seniors Supporting Seniors Through Friendly Visits

NorthStar Home Hospice is locally owned and operated. We are committed to providing compassionate, personalized care to our patients who are living in their own homes or long-term care facilities throughout the Greater Cincinnati area.

Volunteers are the HEART of our hospice team! We are are looking for dedicated and compassionate seniors to share smiles and companionship with other seniors through friendly and supportive visits. Being a hospice volunteer is profoundly rewarding and there is no previous experience needed or medical/personal care involved.

Some of the ways YOU can make a difference when visiting patients: Providing companionship. Reading aloud to the patient or listening to music together. Looking at photos together and sharing memories (life review). Sitting with a patient so caregivers have free time (respite). Journaling or scrapbooking (helping the patient record their history). Watching movies or playing games. Simply being present.

We provide volunteers with: Comprehensive orientation/training. Screenings (at no cost to you). Ongoing support from our professional hospice team. Flexibility - we will work with your schedule, availability, and assignment preferences.
